How you end up with 'γεμιστά αλέ ππερέ' on a menu

Good food is full of flavour. Great food is full of meaning.

On Sunday 22 June we sit together under the trees in the middle of the Municipal Gardens at a long table feast like no other, as we welcome the pioneering team from Patrikon, serving some of their all-time favourites, like trachanokeftedes and carob-glazed kleftiko.

The menu is an ode to Cypriot classics — a love letter to the flavours we grew up with, reimagined by Chef Kiriakos Fokou in unexpected ways.

A winter soup finds its way into a croquette. The kick of traditional spicy sausage is mellowed with sweetness to add crunch to earthy pulses. Stuffed vegetables are unstuffed to let us savour each element on its own.

It's been an honour and a joy to work with people who are so passionate about what they do. The team behind To Patrikon, siblings Kiriakos, Stavros & Evanthia Fokou, are stubbornly proud and determined to put Cyprus on the culinary map, on a par with gastronomic traditions of world renown.

Their menus are a quiet revolution both in terms of the dishes they honour and the language they use – a humble everyday favourite is served as a summery starter plated with super fresh produce and artisanal ingredients.

The whole experience is rounded off with DJs sitting at the head of the table, selecting music as we all eat together. A meal not just to savour, but to remember.
