What began as AfroBanana has now evolved into ALTERNATIVE BRAINS RULE — a name that reflects our vision more clearly: to be a sanctuary for transformative creativity, where artists and thinkers can spark dialogue, challenge norms, and imagine better ways of living together.

The festival has taken many forms over the years — from sun-drenched seaside editions to pandemic-era virtual gatherings under the name AVR, keeping us connected even when apart. But the focus remains the same: collective joy, experimental spirit, and community at its heart.
